I am me, because of sport.
Sport has the potential to change the lives of young people. I have learned valuable lessons throughout my sporting career, how to perform under pressure, work as part of a team and bounce back from setbacks. Judo has taught me about respect, responsibility, humility and hard work.
I first stepped on to the judo mat aged 9. From the very first session I was hooked. Little did I know that over the next 27 years, judo would dominate my life and take me on a journey that I could’ve only dreamed of. A journey that would take me all around the world, have highs, lows and everything in between.
I believe that I can use my experiences to help young people to set goals, develop resilience and to help them realise their potential.
