About me

After hip surgery in 2015, I transferred to heptathlon. After years of specialising on long jump, I had to take a leap out of my comfort zone to switch to this multiskilled event. I am now training and working as a retained Firefighter in Boness my local town while I train. I still hold the Scottish national women’s long jump record. I achieved this feat (6.47m) in April 2012 at the Hilltoppers Relay meeting in Kentucky, almost 40 years after the original record had been made.

When I was younger I also practised basketball, dance and gymnastics. I was an Olympic torch bearer in 2012 for the London Games. In 2013 I was selected to represent Scotland the following year in the Commonwealth Games where I jumped a season’s best in the qualifying round but unfortunately didn’t reach the final at my first major championships. Next time tho!

I am coached by Darren Ritchie, the Scottish Long jump champion and I'm aiming to represent Scotland in the Heptathlon at the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games and Tokyo 2020 Olympics.
